Anti McD

What is wrong with McDonalds?
  • McDonald's promote their food as 'nutritious', but the reality is that it is junk food - high in fat, sugar and salt, and low in fibre and vitamins. A diet of this type is linked with a greater risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other diseases. Their food also contains many chemical additives, some of which may cause ill-health, and hyperactivity in children. Don't forget too that meat is the cause of the majority of food poisoning incidents.
  • Workers in the fast food industry are paid low wages. McDonald's do not pay overtime rates even when employees work very long hours. Pressure to keep profits high and wage costs low results in understaffing, so staff have to work harder and faster. As a consequence, accidents (particularly burns) are common. The majority of employees are people who have few job options and so are forced to accept this exploitation, and they're compelled to 'smile' too! Not surprisingly staff turnover at McDonald's is high, making it virtually impossible to unionise and fight for a better deal, which suits McDonald's who have always been opposed to Unions.
  • Vast areas of land in poor countries are used for cash crops or for cattle ranching, or to grow grain to feed animals to be eaten in the West. This is at the expense of local food needs. McDonald's continually promote meat products, encouraging people to eat meat more often, which wastes more and more food resources. 7 million tons of grain fed to livestock produces only 1 million tons of meat and by-products. On a plant-based diet and with land shared fairly, almost every region could be self-sufficient in food.
  • Forests throughout the world - vital for all life - are being destroyed at an appalling rate by multinational companies. McDonald's have at last been forced to admit to using beef reared on ex-rainforest land, preventing its regeneration. Also, the use of farmland by multinationals and their suppliers forces local people to move on to other areas and cut down further trees.
  • McDonald's are the world's largest user of beef. Methane emitted by cattle reared for the beef industry is a major contributor to the 'global warming' crisis. Modern intensive agriculture is based on the heavy use of chemicals which are damaging to the environment.
  • Every year McDonald's use thousands of tons of unnecessary packaging, most of which ends up littering our streets or polluting the land buried in landfill sites.
  • Children are lured in (dragging their parents behind them) with the promise of toys and other gimmicks.
  • Instead of everyone sharing the world's resources for the benefit of all, multinationals like McDonald's just want to use these resources to make profits for themselves.
  • There Representative is a clown
  • Thanks to Globalization McDonalds has thousands upon thousands of establishment’s worldwide. 6 out of the 7 continents have McDonalds, I am sure if Antarctica was not covered in ice that they would have one there too.
  • They use a lot of packaging that is cooled down using chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), which can actually damage the Ozone layer .
  • Any establishment (like all fast-"food" establishments) owned by a group of people, whether they are shareholders or whether it is privately owned by individuals, if they are not local but are going into an area that is not their home and extracting money from the locals while at the same time taking business away from local establishments to concentrate this money into their own hands elsewhere, is evil.
  • Everything you see in a print ad is fairly accurate-provided you ignore the 20 odd hours spent in retouching every major print ad campaign they make. Removing brown lettuce, discoloured saauce, burnt meat AND
  • The biggest shareholders are JEWS!

Superbug

Original article from Kosmo!

Women Against Abuse

Amanda Fong, a 19-yo teenage girl who get married at young age to Calven Chik. I don't know either of these 2 homo sapiens but people all over the world get to know them because of the facebook-exposure-abuse-case. Yesterday, Calven Chik told the court that he's not guilty (yeay rite, you are not guilty until proven!). But when i 1st watched the video last month, i was so speechless and i cant imagine myself as Amanda. What she had to go tru at her age and she was 2-mo pregnant at that time. Doesn't matter if she was having a scandal at that time (DOESN'T MATTER!), but a GENTLEMAN will not abuse a woman! The video showed how cruel was Calven when he non-stop beating her , he even bang her head to the sofa and to the floor! what kinda man (read human being) is that? Even though he was so mad and angry at that time, he should not never put his hand to his pregnant-wife at the 1st place! She was physically and mentally abuse by her own hubby who the 1 that should protect and love her, she was so weak and fragile to be beaten like that.

What is happening to the world now? Why people get married when they only want to hurt their wives or be beaten by the hubbies? Why women want to get married when they only want to marry the money? How can the parents let the daughters to get married at young ages? So many questions popping in my mind right now, i just dont understand. What will happen in the future? What will happen to our children, to the young generation?

Women abuse cases are becoming serious nowadays, the report of the cases is increasing every day. What are the gov initiative to overcome the increasingly cases of women abuse? What have been done? Is the Women National Policy just another useless paperwork? I can see only from the NGOs point of view, they are very active in protecting and  helping the victims.

I hope all of you women out there, be brave, stop being afraid of the abuser, do come forward and lodge a police report whenever you feel like you are being abused by your spouse, boyfriend or family members.

To MAN, please treat your wife/ girlfriend/ daughter kindly and gentle. Don't ever try to beat a woman when you already knew she is weak and cannot fight you back. Be a gentleman!

How to control you blood sugar?

C6H12O6
Normal Blood Glucose: 4-7mmol/l

Before, i dun even care about my blood glucose level, as far as i know i'm one healthy woman.. until last few weeks when i got my blood gl checked, i was so shocked and couldnt even believe the device, eventou i knew the device used by the nurse to check my blood gl wasnt the best or the accurate one but i realized i have a very hg risk of DBM since both of my parents are diabetic now! so i trained myself to avoid sugary food and start eating very spicy food.. but it wasnt good! glucose intake is important too... so i switched to low GI food.. but Malaysian food labeling is one of the worst, i can only find food with low GI label in Coldstorage/Jusco Supermarket/ Harrods!

until i found this article by shine@yahoo, i think i'm going to implement these tips in my daily life..

Tip #1: Lose Weight
Extra fat can make your body resistant to the action of insulin. Losing weight improves insulin’s activity, which reduces blood-glucose levels. Research suggests that people at high risk for diabetes who lose as little as 5 percent of their body weight (i.e., about 10 pounds, if they weigh 200 pounds) can prevent or delay onset of the condition.

Tip #2: Exercise Regularly
Studies show that physical activity improves the body’s response to insulin and helps lower blood-glucose levels. Not only that, exercise goes hand in hand with healthy eating to achieve weight loss. Aim to fit in 30 minutes of moderate activity—such as brisk walking—nearly every day.

Tip #3: Choose Whole Grains
Selecting whole grains, such as whole-wheat breads and pastas, barley, corn and oats, over refined ones can help improve insulin sensitivity. Whole grains will help you meet your recommended daily intake for fiber (25 grams for women; 38 grams for men); they also provide more vitamins, minerals and other health-promoting nutrients than refined grains.

Tip #4: Don’t Skip Meals
Eating breakfast helps insulin to lower blood-glucose levels, and eating regularly spaced meals also helps insulin work better, suggests research.

Tip #5: Choose Foods Low on the Glycemic Index—But Keep in Mind That Mixing Foods Will Change the GI.
The glycemic index (GI) is a system of ranking foods that contain equal amounts of carbohydrates according to how much they raise blood-glucose levels. (The lower the GI number, the less the food boosts your blood sugar and the more diabetic-diet-friendly it is.) The GI is somewhat confusing and even a little controversial (for instance, we rarely eat single foods by themselves and when you combine foods it affects the GI). But, in general, it does lead you to healthy foods. For example, vegetables, whole grains, beans and high-fiber foods tend to fall lower on the glycemic scale, while processed and refined foods and sweets are higher up.

Pandangan positif mengenai kenaikan gula dan minyak

lately Malaysians dikejutkan dgn tindakan gov.my dgn kenaikan harga minyak Ron 97 menjadikannya RM2.90/l dan harga gula kepada RM2.30/kg. Tindakan kerajaan menyebabkan ramai orang yg marah dan mengamuk.. alasan kerajaan utk kurangkan subsidi kepada gula dan utk mengelakkan org2 kaya berkereta mewah menikmati subsidi spt ron95. so, u all fikir lah sendiri, sama ada -ve or +ve, kedua2 harga dah pun naik.. dan kebetulan plak harga minyak dunia turun mendadak.. mesti ada explanation kan? rakyat Malaysia rasanya makan ke dgn alasan2 gov.my? dan kerana harga gula naik, maka dijangkakan mamak2 teh tarik, kedai kopi dan seangkatannya akan menaikkan harga2 makanan ikut suke mereka eventou kat Malaysia makanan dh mmg mahal pun.. saya setuju dgn pandangan2 tersebut..

I nak pandang dr sudut positive becoz i wanna b positive, firstly about harga ron 97 naik.. umum pun tahu jenis2 kereta yg pakai ron 97 ni mcm Mitsubishi Evo, BMW, Merc, Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Hummer etc etc (do i need to list them all?no need). Harga kereta2 ni berapa yer? bawah rm100k ker? xmungkin kan? plg murah pun 1/2 Million! boleh cover minyak kereta I sampai I mati kot? beli kereta2 mahal, tp bila minyak Ron97 naik, marah xtentu pasal? kenapa beli kete mahal kalo tak mampu nak isi minyak kan? lagi satu plak, yg jenis pakai minyak murah cam ron95, dia plak yg bising2 duk perjuangkan nasib org2 kaya yg pakai ron97, pekehalnya? lebih sudu dr kuah.. ko nak ke org2 kaya tu duk kongsi subsidi ngan korang yg pakai proton, produa? tak nak kan... so, SHUT UP! bagi org2 kaya yg duk pakai kete mahal, if kedekut sgt nak bayar minyak, apa kata u all tukar ke hybrid car? lagi bergaya lg mahal kan??? Mcm hybrid idaman i di bawah ini:
and my sister who is the Specialist for this one big oil company said to me last week, xsemestinya harga minyak MENTAH (raw) dunia turun, harga minyak PROSES (yg u all duk guna) akan turun juga.. she told me, kalo harga minyak mentah turun, maka kos utk memproses minyak akan meningkat dan sekaligus meningkatkan harga minyak PROSES (97 AND 95)! kalo nak sgt harga minyak rendah, u all beli minyak mentah then proses sendiri, ade brani?

2ndly, about harga gula naik.. cuba tgk pic kat bawah ni? takut? ke xheran n confident sgt u all sihat & xkan dapat? dietary intake org2 skrg lain dr org dulu2 yerk.. saya mempunyai seorg Daddy yg kakinya spt ini 3years ago, and now kaki kirinya sudah tiada.. so i knew apa KESAN BURUK gula.. sengsaranya org yg kena Diabetes, now my Daddy pakai kaki palsu, matanya kian kabur dan selera makan kurang, daddy nampak kurus!
GULA aka SUGAR.. I suke harga gula naik.. so what? its my opinion, mungkin tidak correlate dgn penyakit2 yg disebabkan oleh gula tp dia akan sedikit demi sedikit menghindar Malaysians from buying sugar sebab MAHAL.. ye dak? pelik kan penggunaan sugar u all.. FYI, i beli sepaket gula 2kg since i kawen (1y 6mo), hingga skrg tak hbs lagi.. impress tak impress kan? u can control ur own sugar intake when u at home, bila makan luar sure uncontrollable.. so, bila gula naik, harga makanan kat kedai2 mamak/restoran pun naik, confirm u all kurang makan kt luar kan? so, msklah di rumah.. bila msk kat rumah, u all boleh control penggunaan minyak, lemak, cholesterol etc. So, bukan ke lg sihat? Bukan ke mcm2 penyakit boleh dielakkan? So ape risau gula naik kan? Lainlah kalo u all mmg letak gula dlm semua masakan dan air minuman kat rumah termasuk buat susu anak pun nak letak gula.. sila ingat yer, glucose bukan dr sugar saja, anda boleh dpt dr fruits, milk dan mknan lain2.. so jgn cepat melenting! kalo u all cuba buat pengiraan sugar intake kt rumah, catitkanlah satu hari brapa sudukah agaknya? u all makan gula je ke? nikmat sehingga menjilat bibir yer?
sbnrnya byk cara nak elakkan pengambilan gula berlebihan, apa kata cuba cari alternatif2 gula yg lain mcm pokok hijau kat bawah ini.. namanya Stevia, berasal dr paraguay/brasil, skrg dh byk di jual di nursery2 seluruh negara.. daunnya, 15-20x lebih manis dr gula.. i ade beli pokok ni dan ternyata mmg manis dan selamat (FDA dah iktiraf sebagai GRAS).
Selain itu, pemanis berkhasiat lain spt natural honey, maple syrup, unrefined sugar, barley malt extract, dll. Mmg panjang my opinion dr pandangan positive, it depends on u on how to interpret things. Jgn cepat melatah dan cuba berpandangan luas, dun b to narrow minded, terdapat pelbagai alternative lain yg anda tidak tahu.. jgn ikutkan perasaan, gunakan AKAL yg Tuhan dah berikan. Berbelanja ikut kemampuan bukan nafsu, bercakap gunakan AKAL bukan emosi.

Is it a good way or not? Jom kaji beramai2..

p.s.: dah ramai rakan2 I di KL, meninggalkan kereta mahal masing2 di rumah dan menggunakan LRT/Bas utk ke tempat kerja. Good job guys!

p.s.s.: ini dari sudut pandangan positive SJ, I pun ada pandangan negative but i want to look things in a positive way. Depends pada pandangan masing2.. Tq

Cat is one of the healthiest pet!

In one study, when stockbrokers with high blood pressure were given the choice of adopting a cat or dog, both animals significantly lowered their owners’ stress responses. And cats earned a few more points toward a healthy-pet pedigree when researchers at the University of Minnesota recently found that people who’d never owned a cat had a 40 percent higher risk of death from heart attack than cat owners.

Your Beauty Product Expiry Date

original article from Yahoo -How to Know When Your Beauty Products Expire
1. Mascara - This is the makeup item you should be most vigilant about: As the brush is taken out, applied, and put back in the tube, it brings with it any bacteria that has collected along the way, explains cosmetic chemist Jim Hammer. Lingering bacteria can cause redness and itchiness, or even conjunctivitis (a.k.a. pinkeye) and sties. Switch mascara every two to three months to be safe.

2. Foundation - With the exception of powder formulas, all foundations are water-based, which means bacteria love them. Unopened, foundation can last for a couple of years, but once the seal is broken, Hammer says, it's best to replace it after 6 to 12 months.
3. Concealers - Concealers are meant to cover blemishes, not cause them—which is what can happen if you use a concealer that's too old. "You'll know it's gone bad because the color will start to shift," says cosmetic chemist Ni'Kita Wilson. Concealers in powder and stick form can last for up to two years, while liquids should be tossed after one.

4. Face powders - Powders are the Energizer Bunny of makeup. They keep going...and going—at least, for up to two years. Still, as Wilson points out, "some powders contain small amounts of water from botanical extracts, so there's the risk of it growing bacteria if you leave it lying around your bathroom." Look on the ingredients panel for long Latin names—these are often botanicals, and their common names (such as oat extract, chamomile, aloe, bamboo, and green-tea extracts) are typically listed in parentheses.
5. Blush - The same rules that apply to face powder apply to powder blush, since neither contain water. Cream blush, however, should be replaced after a year. To prolong the life of any blush, Wilson advises cleaning your blush brush regularly and storing the color in a dark, dry place. After applying foundation and moisturizer, wait a couple minutes before putting on blush. You can also blot excess oils from your face first, then, after your blush is on, immediately wipe off your brush with a dry towel. With powders or creams, texture is also an indicator—if the formula has become so hard it won't budge from the compact, it's time to buy a new one.
6. Eye shadow - Eye-enhancing shadows? Yes, please. Eye-irritating ones? No, thanks. To keep your eyes from getting red or itchy, replace powder eye shadows after about three months, according to Hammer. Even though they are similar in formulation to other powders, because they're constantly in contact with a mucous membrane, there's a higher risk of transferring bacteria to the product and then back to the eyes. Pay extra attention to cream-based shadows, which tend to grow bacteria more quickly than powders. If you use your fingers to apply, wash your hands before doing so, and be aware of any color switches or off-putting smells.
7. Eyeliner - Liquid or pencil, these eye definers should be replaced about every three months. Like eye shadows, they are applied near a sensitive area and can pick up bacteria and bring it back to the eye very easily "without any visible signs of contamination," Hammer warns. If you've used a dingy liner, you could experience redness, itchiness, or, in extreme cases, conjunctivitis. Pencils will last a bit longer than liquid if you're steadfast about regular sharpening, but you'll know they're dead once a white film starts to develop on the tip that can't be sharpened off, says Dubroff.

8. Lipstick/ Lipgloss - The wrong lipstick color may spoil your mood—but the risk of the formula spoiling (or growing bacteria) is low since they don't contain any water, says Hammer. But since they're repeatedly exposed to the mouth area, he suggests replacing lip products after a year, or if you've recently been sick.
9. Nail polish - Nail polish may just be the Twinkie of the beauty world: It won't go bad from bacteria. Eventually though, lacquer will dry out and become thick and clumpy, with the pigments settling along the bottom of the bottle. Shake it, and if the formula remains separated, it's done-zo.
10. Makeup brush - Grungy beauty may be back this fall—but that shouldn't include your makeup brushes. If cleaned and stored properly, good brushes can last for years, but when the bristles start to fray or fall out, it's time for a new set. To keep them looking pristine, Dubroff suggests wiping them on a dry paper towel or washcloth after every use, and giving them a thorough cleaning every two weeks with a gentle hair shampoo. The best way to store them is propped upright in a glass, where they can air out and won't be squashed and deformed.
